[Sportsandrec] Research Not Survey

Hello everyone,
Don't forget a frequent cane, guide dog user or none of the above. This
comes from someone who uses a cane or a guide dog depending on the travel
situation and does not rely on sighted guides including for participating in
athletic activities and considers the lone use of echolocation taboo! The
comments below illustrate the damage overmoddification of sports for the
blind can do. Never mind the survey. Research in to how the blind
participated in competitive sports prior to overmoddificationitis would be
far more valuable.

Justin,
good question; why not a survey on this? You could become famous then.

Hello,
I'd find it interesting to see if someone who puts down overusing
adaptations is a frequent sighted guide user, or if they are an active
echolocation user? Humans did in fact evolve to be active and passive
echolocation users, and sighted guide is a cultural adaptation, not an
inherent biological one. My point: If a categorical imperative is in
fact a categorical imperative, it's universally applied.
Just a thought based on principle, not the flow of conversation...
