How about the person you're following wearing the bells as an arm band or as 
a bit of a ponytail hanging thing from their helmet. Both their arms and 
head should be moving pretty regularly, right? Easy to hear bells then most 
likely, it'd seem. Or how about a $20 shower radio, supposedly waterproof? 
Jam to some low-volume (?) tunes while chugging along. You should be able to 
follow the music, right? ;-)
