I also guess it would be difficult but with all of the practice he has had maybe he has become acclimated.  Humans can, at the most, make about five clicks per second where animals can make over 500.  How fast do bats fly, or dolphins swim?  They seem to navigate perfectly no matter the noise. As for the cane and the board, the object in echolocatioon for humans is to keep the noise and thus the echo as close to the ears as possible so the use of the tongue is favored even though some use of the cane (if it is used at all) may sometimes be substituted. He is able to hear a telephone pole, a tree, a hydrant and other similar objects.  I have no idea how he can hear a turn but maybe there are other things that enable him to figure this out.

I understand what echolocation is, but is he really clicking his
tongue. canes make great echolocation makers and I would presume the
skateboard wheels do the same. Besides, how can you hear a turn when
you're speeding down a ... what is it called in skateboard lingo,
track? I would think that the speed would make using echoes harder.
