Hello Joe, thank you. I feel like I am catching on quick with some great instruction, but I still have a lot to learn. Unfortunately I broke a rib rolling back in Feb, and would take a week off here and there only to learn I kept re-fracturing it. Finally I took 6 weeks off at the end of May to let it heal completely, so I have just really gotten back in. I do spar as often as I can, usually going to class 3 or 4 days a week. We do some of the Judo throws, but I will learn more of those as I advance. One of my good friends is a BJJ black belt and owns one of our sister academies a few hours south, so I cross train with them when possible. His guys are used to get beat up on by a blind guy, so they don't go easy on me, which I appreciate. Most of the people at my academy are used to me by now, but it took a bit for some of them to get used to working with a blind girl, at least until they realized I was normal and capable. I hope to start competing this Fall.
