[Sportsandrec] Tandem biking

Hello everyone,

In Tennessee we have had the fortunate partnership with a local bike club.
In the club they have several couples that have tandems, so once a week
those captains bring out their bikes for an hour to allow visually impaired
athletes ride. The club rents a local race track for us to ride on, but some
teams ride in the neighborhoods beside the track. I am not suggesting you
could get an entire group together like this, but maybe a local bike club or
bike shop might have a person with a tandem. It is a thought. Good Luck

Carly and all,

Thanks so much for your suggestions of places I can start looking for a
bike/sighted bicyclists to ride with. I've considered taking a spin class at
my college gym, but the thought of sitting inside for an hour just going no
where drives me crazy. Lol. I also have a guide dog and I thought I could
find a safe way to hitch her up to the bike so she could get some exercise
too. I'll look around the Boston area to see if there are any resources.
