[Sportsandrec] Zumba?

No, you're right. And yes, many times we have a few extra steps to
accomplishing something, like an exercise class, that sighted people don't.
There is a fine line and a balance, and it's up to the individual to
determine what is best for them.

I'm just in a mood today, smile. But I do think we sometimes expect certain
things without first just trying. We all do it, me included. My grad school
is paid for by a rehab agency, and I've also received scholarships because
I'm blind. So...

Sorry for the tangent. I know I sound judgey, not my intention, just a
question posed wrong.

Bridgit

Bridgit,

On one hand, sighted people don't have to take additional classes to learn
what they can learn by watching. On the other hand, it does seem that true
equality means being willing to do the hard work to get there.

But then again, I took a college scholarship awarded for nothing more than
my blindness, I accepted SSI rather than working a part-time job, and
sometimes I take rides from friends because I don't feel like paying a
driver. So do I really believe that, or does it just make me feel good to be
right? I guess I don't know where I draw the line.

Warmth,
J
