To me riding a horse would be a lot like using a guide dog. Once you learn
the commands, which everyone wouldn't, you know hand signals and words that
the horses understand. I am not a horse rider, but I think it would be fun
to be, but I did ride a horse with a friend once. In all fairness, that
horse may have been following the other woman's horse, but I think I could
have handled it. Of course, there is no doubt that blind people can do this.

I'm not a part of an equestrian group, but I have ridden horses myself, and
for what it's worth, I'm totally blind. I ride with someone, but I'm on my
own horse, controlling the hourse.

I did gymnastics as a child, but I was not blind back then. But, with proper
training in the sport, I can think of no reason gymnastics would be
difficult for a blind person. Perhaps orientation when turning and flipping,
but there are ways you could help with that.

I swim and run now. I just competed in a triathlon this summer. I'm starting
a yoga class now too.

Can a blind person ride a horse independently? Can a blind person be an
aquestreion member? Can a blind person do gymnastics? Can blind people play
football and hockey?

I know this group  talks about sports and recreation but what else? When I
signed up there wasn't enough information on it to read. I love it so far,
