[Sportsandrec] Getting Started Running to a Goal of a 5k

Good Afternoon Everyone,


I have a friend who wants to start running with a goal of running a 5k.  
Would like to know your suggestions and techniques in order to 
accomplish this goal.  She is also thinking of joining a running club.  
If any of you has done this as well, please provide suggestions and/or 
techniques.
