[Sportsandrec] Large runner

I'm impressed with all of you who run long distances and are so fit. Even
when I used to run I hated it, so I can't imagine that kind of dedication.

Can somebody please explain cross fit to me?

I've seen it mentioned here and in other places, but don't know about it.

Nella

They did some article I think in runners world about taking marathoners and
having them do CrossFit during the week and only doing the long runs on the
weekends. I have run 3 half marathons but I have never really done CrossFit.
I have always wanted to try it. I might have to try that next.

quit CrossFit last year as the load just got too much to do a bunch of
backsquats one day and then run fifteen plus miles the next day. I had just
begun CF and had already committed to the full marathon, so it was the right
move for me. I love CrossFit so much that I am not running fulls this year
to give it a real shot. I am currently doing CrossFit five or six days per
week and training for a half. This seems to be a perfect balance for me.
I've run four halfs and two fulls. I will run four halfs this year while
training like a monster in CrossFit seeing what kind of gains I can get
there.
