JB- I did not have any orientation to blindness. I did it all myself. Now
that I am comfortable with it I do not perceive it as central to my life.
Things taht are more important to me are central.

I don't deny it. Last night my grandson confided that a boy in his class is
going blind and the family is trying to solve the situation with therapy. I
hope they are successful. I also told him to tell his friend, another 13
ywear old, that he should have his mother call his grandmother who is blind.
I hope she does. I will tell her that I hope her son is successful with his
therapy, but just in case the issue doesn't come to a satisfactory
conclusion she might want to look into getting her son blindness skills like
mobility training and reading braille. I also have names of people in this
community who are also blind and experts in this area. I learned the
importance of this from this list. No John, I'm not in denial and if I can
help another person I'm ready, willing and able.
