I adore the article, and the reminders I must have each day!
Before retirement from NMSVH, I taught most staff Braille. I challenged
myself with the mental and written word games To teach specific
contractions, I wrote lists and more lists. Imagine words concluding in
"ation" and "ness", and I had it on my list. I had the staff look at
hundreds of vocabulary, and made it a sight reading system. "This is how
this word should always look in Braille. It was terrific for my writing,
too. When I created stories for their reading sessions, I practiced precise
sentence creation.
Many jobs require writing, even if they are reports and goals. I practice
today by writing scholarship requests or stories for organizations. Just a
decent email is practice, isn't it?
