April, woo, looks like I skipped something in our recent visit. Sorry. Glad
you asked and tonight I'll explain it this way- The division holds a free,
anyone can dial in telephone meeting. the conversation is free flowing. It
generally focuses in on some aspect of writing, like the mechanics, to
publishing, grammar, your mental health and staying motivated, and more. The
number of people who normally call in is about 6 or 8. I think we could
handle several more. More times than not, it is a rewarding hour and a half.
It Normally is on a Sunday evening, 7:30 central USA. Here are the numbers
you need to know- to get on to the conference call, dial 218-339-4300 and
once in the system it will ask you for a number and it is 568839#


The next meeting time is Sunday January 18.

Division members

I have started calling all Division members who I have never met and have a
phone number for. I am wanting to: put a voice and personality with the
name, learn what he or she writes, what the division can do for him or her,
ask what he or she can do for the division, ask if he or she are planning to
attend the 2009 convention, ask if he or she are receiving Slate and Style
and/or the Braille Monitor, ask if he or she belong to this mailing list,
ask if he or she would like to join in on the monthly telephone meetings and
more. 

One person I would like to bring to your attention is Christina Oakes of
Michigan who is our volunteer Braille proofreader for the Braille issue of
Slate and Style. She reads through each Braille issue before it is released.

Ben, No,  I don't know of any blind writers, but you can probably get names
