I love board games, scrabble, monopoly, chess. I rarely play simply because
my friends and family just aren't board game players, but I love the
competition and the mental challenge.

Hi writing Friends:

My husband Jim and I just finished playing a very competitive game of
Scrabble in which he won. Being a person who loves language, I enjoy word
games and Scrabble is my favorite. Usually, I beat him by a long shot.
Tonight, he beat me rather substantially. A couple nights ago, I was stuck
with a C and an L at the end of the game. Fortunately, I was able to tack
them on to oven to make the word cloven. I'd never heard of such a word,
but I checked my dictionary and, low and behold, it was there.

We bought our braille Scrabble game around 32 years ago. We paid around $20
for it then, a fortune, we thought, but we have more than gotten our money's
worth out of it. Tonight, we did a letter inventory. To our surprise, all
the letters are still there.

Anyone else like Scrabble? Jim and I usually play 9-tile Scrabble instead
of the traditional seven tile Scrabble. We have played as much as 14 and
18-tile Scrabble.

Scrabble is a great way to pass time on these cold Iowa winter days. It is
also a fun game to take on trips.

April
