[stylist] does anyone

Dear James,

Well, even sightedparents produce blind children e.g. my parents. And, if
one partner is blind, he/she can produce a blind child, if the blind partner
has a hereditary condition. I've known blind couples who had sighted
children. My husband and I are both blind and we produced seven sighted
children. Oh, my husband was a good catch, by the way, considering he is
blind. Ha, ha, ha! But, your point is well taken: who better to raise a
blind child than a blind parent.

In White Coat, White Cane, Hartman talks about his objections to the blind
marrying the blind. I can't recall now all of what he said, (something
about double the problems), but in my letter to him, I asked if he would
have loved his wife any less had she been blind or if the fact that she was
sighted was part of the attraction. I have no problem with blind people
marrying sighted people either. I have a problem with people ruling out
someone on the criteria of blindness alone.

Sincerely,

April

well,
if blind people marry other blind people, then, shockingly, there might be
blind kids the result.
[please note, the above is sarcasm]
blindness shouldn't be the only criterion for anybody seeking a marriage
partner! and, if there are going to be blind kids, who better to raise them
than blind adults?
