[stylist] Book about a deafblind guy

Its easy for us to say that, having adjusted well to blindness, but it's a
lot harder for some folks to come to grips with it than you might think.
Think of the thing which frightens you the most, I mean really scares the
hell out of you. Then imagine that thing is blindness. It's the only way to
see where these folks are coming from.

Now I totally agree.  the thing is that many of them are in denial, which is
a sign of weakness to me.  A little of it is understandable, but at some
point, one must simply come to grips with it.

if he knew he had Usher's syndrome, why did he wait till he was 86 to learn
tactile sign?
I get really frustrated with people who know something is coming and don't
bother to prepare ahead.
