About steaks, do you know that chefs are trained to touch steaks to
determine their readiness? So this isn't an exclusively blind technique for
steaks.

I do appreciate pretty women, but our definitions might differ. yes,
using the cane is one of many blindness skills. braille labeling,
cooking without the use of your limited sight, these are other things
you can do.
when I cook a steak I obviously can't look at it, but I use timer and
touch to know when it is done, for example.
I use a talking clock.
I'm glad you still have some vision, but clinging to it might
actually limit some of your activities and your enjoyment.
