[stylist] Protecting the younger group from materials too adult for them

Donna and others on the idea for a separate list for non-young people and/or
one for the younger set. And that is, to regulate such a thing! Who and how
would anyone screen for age? As the sign up now for an NFB mailing list
goes, anyone can sign up for anything! I mean, sure we could probably do a
by recommendation only type of signup; like, it has to come from a known
adult, that a under age person was wishing to join a particular discussion
list. Otherwise, its now wide open! (We could, as we now are, doing what is
generally acceptable across all mediums; the TV, the movie, magazine
industry thing of using ratings. (Though, with magazines, I recall and do
not know if they are still doing this, but the person running the cash
register would do some eye balling and would maybe ask for ID.) But we all
know and respect what you and some if not all of us also believe and want to
see happen- spare the youth from materials that they may not be in a
position to maturely process.

Robert,
Thank you. If there should ever be a situation where the division has an
interest in giving young blind children access to this type of a forum,
perhaps we can set up a separate list and get volunteer adults to join
specifically to help the kids. I'm sure this decision will work for our
current members.
