This one was published in Slate and Style many years ago.
Where Shadows Meet
Lori Stayer
There are no sharp outlines
where shadows meet
Only soft, dark corners.
Life's mystery lies here,
Simple truths, no longer clear.
Where dreams apply
and no one dares
reveal the lie.
Illusion dominates my soul
nor does half truth unveil the whole.
But I go on, reject defeat,
my life, my work, i must complete
where shadows meet.
