In general in groups I've been in, the writing prompt is one sentence,
meant to spark the writer to enter his imagination and flow from there. One
batch of prompts had to do with song titles. For example: You Were Never
Lovelier. (From a Fred Astaire movie)

The writer can then imagine a romance, perhaps a memory of a partner long
gone, or of his current wife of 50 years, etc. When we don't give too much
detail in a prompt, it becomes easier to use for writers with a wide variety
of interests. That's not to say all prompts have to spark romantic
stories, song titles or not. The results will be as widely disparate as the
writers themselves.
