[stylist] Word Processing question

Yes, I've changed my Word document default in the manner that Lori
describes. Just change the font type and size to the one you desire and tab
along to where the field talks about "default," and once you enter it, it
asks if you wish to change your default to the new parameters, and if you do
just press the spacebar and it will do it for you.
But, even later, when creating a document, and if you are pasting in stuff
from other documents, you can still end up with a mixed bag of fonts!
(Changing the default means that the doc you create within that default
setup will be the default, but if you paste in text from a different default
document, that new text that is dropped in will not automatically be changed
to the settings of the doc you just dropped it into. No, you will then have
to select all and manually change the font type to make it all the same.)
That is the way it is.

You can change the default, you know.  I'm not sure how to do it with
keystrokes.  i do know I have been able to switch it to Ariel, 12 point, and
my husband, who is totally blind, has made his Ariel 14 point.  So it can be
done.  Get into the font menu, change the font and size to the ones you
want, and tab till you land on default.  Possibly you can check this with
the space bar.  Anyone want to confirm?  Then hit okay, or apply, whatever
they offer.

To: "Writer's Division Mailing List" <stylist at nfbnet.org> Hi Joe, That's
essentially what I'm doing. The default format for new .docs is still 12 pt.
Times New Roman, single spaced, aligned left. It's like there's a demon in
there. I can live with it, but it does take extra time. There's a "merge"
option in the menus, but I've never been able to figure out how to use it or
if it really applies to this situation.
