Our May gathering happens tonight, May 23rd. Recall, the theme ---will be a
time to present some of our personal writings for critique. Anyone can
present, all can give constructive criticism. You can read your own work or
have someone else read it for you. Also, it has been suggested that an
author who is planning to present, could send the work out prior to the
evenings event..A good idea, though not a requirement. And if you are going
to send it out prior to the meeting, you could send it to STYLIST with the
note that  it is a piece for the meeting. (We have seen several pieces of
novels or entire short stories appear for public suggestion and people have
enjoyed these. It will be great if the authors come on the call and we get
to hear their voice reading their work.) And one thought or caution - the
material intended for this meeting, seeing how you and we will not know who
will attend, the material to be read must be acceptable for a general
audience. 
 
I personally will not be attending. Bob Gardner will be the moderator. You
all have a great session! Remember, keep the flow manageable, keep your
comments brief and give all on line a chance to talk. 
 
Next month, June, we will have another special guest. She also is a Division
member, Nancy Scott. Nancy is a former president of the Division, a person
who has been writing for years, has been published, has won writing contests
. She will be presenting a one hour (possibly longer) workshop on Goal
Setting. And you all know that to get to a goal,  you have to set one. And
for some of us, setting and reaching a goal is not an easy thing. Nancy has
a great program on the anatomy and making the achievement of reaching a
goal, am obtainable goal. (Woo, that got to be a little tangled, but what
Nancy's has is better than that. During the first part of June, a bio of
Nancy will be sent to STYLIST, you will see her credentials how it is that
she can speak to the topic of Goal Setting.) I am looking forward to June's
gathering.
 
And as for July, I promise we will have a guest speaker on the topic of
technical writing.
