well thank you for the compliment Kerry,
I appreciate that.  some local readers of my blogs and comments on 
the newspaper website might disagree with you though!  some day I'll 
post on here the names I've been called!

yes, actually people have been burrying gnomes upside down for good 
luck in selling a home.  you are correct that burrying a statue of 
st. joseph has also been done, probably for much longer, and I think 
for more general good luck.

Kerry I enjoyed reading your work.  it is very interesting and a very 
strong love story.  Emma is a beautiful girl.
