Ashley,
I have a WordPress blog, and I complete the tollowing steps to add
categories.
First, I have to add a specific category to my blog. From the dashboard,
which is the blog’s main admin page) menu I select the “Post” menu item and
will receive the following sub-menus: Add New, Categories, and Post Tags. I
select the “Categories” link and will be taken to a page where I can then
create my categories.
Second, I have to associate the categories to my blog post. I do this by
either creating a new post or editing an existing post, (either way, the
method is the same). If you tab down, use down arrows, or whatever method
you prefer to navigate the page; the “category” section will be directly
after the link / button titled “Publish”. Each category you created will
be listed here as a check box menu. I move to the correct category and hit
the space bar to check the associated box.
To publish your post with its new category, just navigate to the preceding
“Publish” button or link and you should be successful.
Happy posting.
Daniel
