Hi,
Well I know you can categorize it, but how? Do you have to do this before
publishing it? Maybe you create a folder and put the like category stuff
there. I'll look around too and see if I can figure out more. Now I simply
know how to create, save, and publish a blog entry.. Good luck with it.

Hi Ashley,
I don't know your answers yet, but I'll keep this list of questions and
figure out how to do this stuff. I know the answer to the first one, though.
When you write a post, you can categorize the post. My blog had a test post
in it, and I saw that you could do that when I activated the Edit Post link.
I forget whether the control was an edit box or something else. I personally
think it's confusing, because when you first go out there, you're hit with
so many options that it's hard to focus in on the short list of things you
need to know to get started. Maybe since I am one of the less accomplished
writers here, I will take a stab at bare bones instructions for getting
started with the least amount of effort on Wordpress and send to the list
for writing help.
Thanks.
Jim

Hi Jim,
I have a word press blog too. Questions. How do I categorize blog entries?
Is that on the dashboard? I like wordpress since it has no security image to
see!
Can you copy and paste from Word there without losing spacing?
Do you know how to add sound clips to them? What format does it need to be
in? MP3?
I have a personal blog and I'm setting up one for childhood memories; more
of a blog to practice writing personal essays.
You're right that if you write on a blog its safe; if the computer crashes,
you still have your blogs and you can write from
any jaws equipped computer.

Hi Amy,
I went through the process of creating a Wordpress blog yesterday. Signing
up was very easy. It's also an easy process to write a post. My copy of JAWS
worked well with it. The browser I was using was Firefox. I will probably
use this blog as a way to practice writing. I found out that it's possible
to keep blogs private. The reason I did it this way is that I've had too
many computer crashes at work and home and lost my journal. Thankfully, it
was at the beginning of my writing experiment and only had a few entries in
it. As I learn more about Wordpress features, I will report if people want
to hear about it.
One thing I have already found out is that if you go to
http://www.wordpress.org, where they have the software that you can download
and put on your own site, the documentation is better. They don't give you
the ability to install whatever plug-ins you want to install over at
http://www.wordpress.com, though.
Thanks.
Jim

Thanks James, JC, Daniel, and anyone else I might have missed, forr all your
blog advice. Yes, JC, I would like to read some of your blog posts, if you
would send them off list. I think I might give Wordpress a shot. When and if
I successfully post something, I'll let you all know. I told myself that I
would never blog (I wanted the time to work on novels, short stories, and
the like) but I realize how often I find myself reading other writers' blogs
and have decided it might really be a great promotional tool for my
already-published books. I believe that it will be worth the time and
effort, if the blog posts help draw attention to my books and to me as an
author. Thanks, List...I always know I can count on you guys:)
Amy
