Hey Brad,

Thanks for your kind words, and for taking the time to read and comment on 
my story. No, it's not a part of a larger project, just a story that has 
been sitting in my 'unpublished' folder with about 20 others. It was the 
result of a writing prompt from another writing group I used to belong 
to--write a story, poem or essay about a group of people. I wrote several 
versions--in the first the cops showed up to arrest the Danny ccharacter, 
but that didn't feel right to me. So I took another stab at it, and then 
another and another. My plan was to get it (and other) stories published in 
top-tier literary mags, build my resume and make myself look better to 
prospective agents and/or small publishers. A good plan that just hasn't 
panned out for me. In retrospect, the story is probably too slow, and the 
conflict doesn't arise until about three-quarters of the way through.
