[stylist] A Discovery

Yes, this award carries with it a very large cash award. A man in Pittsburgh
received it a number of years ago and he established a school with the award
money - it is something a person cannot apply for, nor seek in any way. It
is probably the most prestigious award a person could ever receive. As I
read this book, I had not seen her bio or anything else on her, but the word
"genius" kept coming to my mind - so this was sure an enlightening thing to
learn AFTER I read the book.

What I am wondering is how a person who has not studied mythology or the
Classics would enter into her work. I wonder what the experience would be in
that case. It rekindles my own fire when I read things like this but I
have extensive background i the Ancient - Medieval world as I taught it in
Humanities courses for many years and studied those things all through my
academic education.

It will be fun to have you to discuss it with when you are reading the
book. This is one of the things I miss so much now that I am not teaching -
colleagues who are reading the things I am reading and having those
wonderful discussions as we go through the texts.
