[stylist] writing biographies

Hi all,

I’m in a pr class now. I need to write a bio and haven’t gotten too much info about them although my professor gave us a sample on her as a bio.
This would go in a press kit. I know you put the major facts up front and then put the smaller background facts at the end. So, the current jobs and accomplishments and awards the person has go first. Then end with something like where they live and their family.

I could end with something like “Sue Smith is a resident of Greenwood, VA who lives with her husband and three kids. She will continue her career as an event planner.”

Can anyone share any tips on this type of writing? If you have samples you want to share, I’m glad to read them! Thanks! I also googled it, but did not find much except for blogger advice; any internet resources on media kits including bios and backgrounders would be nice too!

Thanks.
Ashley
