I believe this quote is from "Valley Girl" by Frank Zappa; the entire couplet is:

In our minds and in our cars
We can't rewind we've gone too far.

I found the poem very interesting at first glance; I look forward to reading in more depth when I get a change.

Chris and all, I was trying to go to bed last night when I had to get the computer back out to write this piece down. It came so fluidly though at an inopportune time. Curious if anyone will recognize the line and from what song it comes. Well, here it is below and also attached. Eve

In our minds and in our cars,

We travel our own roads.

Some travel high, some travel low.

Some don't know where on Earth to go.

Some find this limited

And dream of realms infinitive.

They use a different kind of key

To astral travel out of body.

Some elements and energy

And guidance from the gods

Helps map their search for unknown worlds

Where new possibilities abound,

So sit down in the driver's seat and take the wheel this year.

You'll find the trip is worth your effort

And be surprised at who just might appear.

Just remember to keep all three eyes open

So you miss not a single thing.

For whether in your mind or in your car

When you are driving, you could go far.
