Chris,
I really like this piece. I love Valmore's eclectic thoughts about 
anything and everything--they really do replicate what a person's train 
of thought might be in actuality. The reader gets to literally glimpse 
inside the character's mind and is fortunate enough to get a great 
picture of the character's physique as well as his personality.
I like how you integrated Valmore's thoughts with his actions--Drinking 
at the bar. The pacing worked for me as a reader and the piece held my 
interest till the very end. Well done.
