[stylist] Grammar: infinitives and I N G

Hi People,
I googled for this and wasn't exactly sure I understood how it works. I mean, when to use the infinitive and when to use the ing form of a verb. The first result that came up was http://www.englishclub.com/grammar/verbs-m_infinitive-ing.htm. Now I'm hoping to come up with an easy way to remember what the page says. Do you have any ideas?
