Lynda,
My thoughts are with you. Cancer is a familiar foe in my family, so I
understand a little what you are dealing with. Stay strong and look for
the positive always. Both my paternal and maternal grandma's had breast
cancer, my paternal grandma passed when I was ten, my maternal grandma
has developed it twice, but is now in remission again at 82. My
great-aunt on my mom's side also had breast cancer a few years ago, and
is also in remission. And my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at the
age of 45. She's currently in remission as well. My paternal grandpa now
has cancer of the bladder, though they are confident it won't spread,
and they went in to remove what they could. My brother-in-law was
diagnosed with lymphoma the day after Christmas. He's 38 and has three
kids all under the age of nine, the youngest only 7 months. He's doing
well and currently investigating various treatments for his type of
lymphoma. You seem like a strong, determined lady, and I know you will
be a pillar.
Bridgit

How kind of you, Donna, to let everyone know what is going on right now
in
our lives.
You all have not heard from me in a few months, and it is because all my
time has been devoted to working with my husband to try to determine
what
was happening with him. Our search for the answer ended on Thursday
afternoon when we got the call from the hematologist that told Bob his
bone
marrow biopsy turned out to show he has an aggressive acute leukemia and
had
to go directly to Pittsburgh (PA) for beginning treatment. He is
currently
on two different types of chemo, 24 hours a day, for 7 days. This began
Saturday morning - we know this is not a sprint, or a quick fix, but we
know
it is a marathon and we must keep our eyes on the big picture and not be
depressed by the ups and downs that we will be encountering. This is a
blow that no one would ever want to have - we are stunned - but we
know that miracle abound for all of us and that is what we choose to
focus
on. Thank you for your prayers for Bob, and it would be wonderful if you
would stop by the new FB page for him. We are doing this because we
don't
want to keep it a secret, but we want to share his journey and his story
to
help others who were or are facing this disease.
Right now, my own creative projects are all on the way-back burner - my
priority is bing at the hospital every day with him. It is an hour's
drive
from here. Thanks again! Lynda
