Chris,
I agree with Barbara. He's well-intentioned, but if she ever finds out, it
could be devastating. He should try to get some media attention or one of
the nonprofits like Make a Wish Foundation to make it really happen. He
could get frustrated that his efforts aren't working or are taking too long
and think about writing it himself and doing just as you suggested, and you
could show his struggle with it.

Subject: [stylist] philosophical, non-writing related question
Hello,
I have a story idea brewing in my head, and I need your help seeing
various angles on something.
The scenario is a thirteen year old girl has leukemia. Her uncle wants to
help, but aside from support and pep talks, he doesn't know what to do. Then
he has an inspiration. The girl loves Katie Perry or Justin Timberlake or
Taylor Swift-some pop star. The uncle decides to write a letter to her as if
he were the pop star, saying your uncle contacted me and I just wanted to
reach out and tell you how much I admire you and want you to get better. and
so on.He sends the letter to a friend in Los Angeles, who makes up a fake
envelope and sends the letter to the girl so she believes it comes from the
pop star.
My question: Did the uncle do a good thing? Why?And if you think he did a
wrong thing, why?
I'm looking for different perspectives on this, so I really appreciate your
feedback.
Thanks,
Chris
