Julie

The one that I think we have seen very little on is this one- *marriage/relationships, the reality of living with someone who is blind *

Thanks

Perhaps I’m crazy, or just a little bit nuts, but...I self published my first book not even a week ago and I am ready to start on another book project.

I’d very much appreciate your feedback on some ideas I have. First, though, I write nonfiction. Second I write from a blindness perspective, but not solely about blindness. For example my first book is about the training of my guide dog, which is certainly a blindness topic. However the book is also a lot about challenging personal and social expectations, going after your dreams and getting very cozy with going it alone.

My ideas thus far include:
*gardening and food preservation, how to save money, eat healthy, not blow up the house with the pressure canner and other helpful info
*general pet dog training, with blindness alternatives. this would end up being almost exclusively for blind people, but perhaps I could expand it to include other disabilities if I did interviews and researched it.
*marriage/relationships, the reality of living with someone who is blind
*parenting, or how to figure out just how much you don’t know really fast because the kids will tell you
*stupid things people say to blind people, a sort of humorous retelling of everyday occurrences when out in public

I also have a lot of ideas for self help kinds of topics. I think though that I want to write a couple of more books closer to what I have a lot of experience with, before venturing out into ideas that I need to get clear on myself. I’d love for any insights on my book ideas. what sounds interesting to you? Which sorts of books are not available that you’d love to read? Is there something I haven’t listed that you think I should write? Or if I’m way out in left field, tell me that too!

Thanks muchly!
