Sem,
I have never gotten into the vampire books or movies. But this poem did
rivet me. Because it was short, and still was very informative of the
beliefs and practice, somehow it was a more believable piece to me.
However, I cannot easily shift from when I hear the words, "Sunrise, Sunset,
"to vampire practices. In honesty, it puts me right into "Fiddler on the
Roof," with its wonderful minor key music and the Jewish circle dancing.I
would rather relive that in my mind.
Since your subject has been in the forefront of so many best sellers, and
movies, your poem is in step, and I am out in left field. Keep writing
poetry.

Well ehre I go at last sharing a poem. I generally write just the horror and
fantasy fiction/ books and short stories, but we're in a local poetry group
and started doing all sorts of poems there as a result. Of lateThe I've not
been pulled to any of the topics even though many should've drawn me. This
month's, sunsetand sunrise felt totally boring at first until something
clicked. My husband's poem, dark wild and creapy, inspired me and I wrote
from the POV of a character. It's been a while for that as well and I
enjoyed it. This isn't my best but it was fun especially as it's been a
while and I shall read at the poetry group next Friday.

The Danger between sunset and sunrise,
By Renfield

Only at sunset does he open his eyes,
for then it is time for him to rise.
The dark moon-filled night is his hunting ground.
If it's you he seeks, you will be found.
The bats, rats and wolves are at his beck and call.
If it is aid he requires, he can summon them all.
It is the light of day that forces him to close his eyes.
So if you flee from The Master, best do it at sunrise.
