[stylist] question about poems for Eng 510 Studying the Craftcomparison assignment

Not sure what you mean by similar...but you can see what other poets have
done, or are currently doing, with the same theme and that would probably be
more interesting and a better challenge for this level of course. A 10 page
paper sounds like a very small research project - my undergrad students
wrote 20-page papers in my lit. courses.
Check out Yusef Komanyukaa for starters...you could contrast what a minority
poet does with the same theme as Frost used...look into the "world view"
that each poet is shoowing in their work...every creative person reflects
their own world view in all they produce - and, as well, the Zeitgeist of
the generation and culture in which he/she lived and that is a great place
to begin, too. Think across disciplines - how does this theme, image,
reflection show up in literature, fine art, philosophy, etc.

Subject: [stylist] question about poems for Eng 510 Studying the
Craftcomparison assignment

Hello all,

For English 510 I have to compare a classic poem to a contemporary poem for
a major paper (10 pages) due two and a half months from when class starts on
Monday. Does any one know if there are poems written from 2000 to the
present which are similar to Robert Frost's poems, "Blueberries" or "After
Apple-picking."

Thank you,

Jennifer Applegate
