Julie,

Is this research for a nonfiction book, or research for character/plot development for a fiction story? Just curious.

Subject: [stylist] I would appreciate your help

Hello all!

I am doing some research for my next writing project. I am exploring the topic of authenticity as an introvert. I am specifically interested in struggling to fit in, social pressures, feelings of guilt for not going to parties and anything else related to being an introvert, remaining true to yourself while balancing that with the mainstream social pressures of extroversion. My idea is that being introverted is normal, natural and a part of who we are. I do not think it should be suppressed or overcome. I would very much like to hear other introverts thoughts on this topic from the perspective of their own lives.

I would prefer to talk by phone or Facetime. If you’re not comfortable with either of those, I would be willing to email back and forth. This is the initial research only. the questions will be very generic and broad. Please don’t share anything you aren’t comfortable sharing. I don’t want to be nosy, I do want to get a general sense if I am on the right track with this idea and where to go next.

If you are an introvert and interested in talking with me, please send me an email at julielj at neb.rr.com and we can sort out the details. I would ideally like to talk this week or weekend, but next week is also doable.

thanks so much for being awesome! Write on!
