I am pretty sure you need permission. Which shouldn't be too hard to get.
Write one of the publishing houses and ask for it. Chances are you will get
a huge yes, since it is advertising in a way.

Titles you can use they can't be copyrighted.

As far as I know, as long as you recognize the author at end of book, I
don't think you need to purchase copyrights or anything.

I had an essay published a year ago with music lyrics connecting sections,
and I didn't cite the artist anywhere, and the editor didn't think it a
problem.

Google it or contact a publisher, but I say just write it, and when it is
published, you can deal with it at that time.

HI everyone. Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this or where to look.
I'm working on...probably a book, but it cold be a long story, as these
things tend to take on a life of their own and I never know until it's done
how long it will really be. LOL. So I'm making some of the chapters lines to
songs. How much can I legally use, of course giving the artist credit at the
end of the book in a list, without having to pay for it, or can I do this at
all without having to pay royalties?
