The Topic for February's Gathering

How will Role Play Gaming Improve Your Writing Skills?

Dear Writers' division Member, A reminder to join us Sunday February 22nd
for a special presentation!

*#1 About when and how to get on the call

*#2 About the topic, and about our special guests

*#1 The information you need to get on the call:

If you are a member of the Writers' Division, you should receive a separate
email from this one, with the phone number and access code to get on the
call. If you did not get that email, and if you are paid up with your dues,
and/or want to get paid up (renew or brand new), email me and we can fix
that: newmanrl at cox.net <mailto:newmanrl at cox.net>

*About our topic:

Nynaeve and Ishamael, both live a top a mountain, where they write, read,
and engage in a lot of gaming! As they came aboard our division's listserv
and provided us a BIO, I knew we all needed to meet them. What follows is
their invitation to our February gathering. Note, the below invite, starts
out with a sample of a Role Play; they host several of these email based
games.

*Here is their invitation:

"What are you reading," Severus Snape asked, leaning over to peer at the
paper the other man held just out of sight.

The page rustled slightly as Albus Dumbledore turned to allow the younger
man a look.

"It's very interesting," he replied.

"A very unique concept I must say!"

Severus took the paper, dark eyes scanning over it, then reading it more
slowly. Then he read it again more slowly still. At last he placed it on the
table and shook his head.

"So you're telling me that J K Rowling knew about Voldemort because you
joined a writing game?"

Albus winked one kindly blue eye, obviously struggling to keep a straight
face.

"Me? Of course not, dear boy. Voldemort joined the writing group. That's why
she only got it half way correct!"

*Who are our guests; two of our newest members:

Published authors, Nynaeve and Ishamael share how a fun and enthralling
writing hobby has helped them to write story after story and book after book
and how it can help you to do the same. Continue to grow as a fiction author
with creative writing in group format. This system is called play by email
role-play and it's done in a group with other writers, some published best
sellers on Amazon, and some who just write for fun, but they all enjoy
bonding with their characters and creating fabulous plots together. As a
writer, this strengthens your connection to your own characters so that you
are even better at character development. Sharing thoughts and ideas with
others helps with plot development, and weekly or even daily writing in this
group helps constantly improve your writing. Practice, even if just for fun,
makes perfect, after all.

(Albus Dumbledore was written here by Ishamael, and Severus Snape was
written by Nynaeve, purely for your entertainment.)

Respectfully yours,

Robert Leslie Newman
