Greetings! Last Note before Convention

 

Hi you all:

 

The following are four major bits of info for our membership. This will be
relevant no matter if you will be attending Orlando in person or by phone
hook-up, or not.

 

*#1 You can join in on the Writers' division's annual business meeting by
dialing into our conference call number! The date is Tuesday July 7th. The
time the meeting will start is 1:30 ET; 12:30 CT; 11:30 MT; 10:30 PT. The
phone number to call is 1-712-432-0460 and the code is 568839Pound. If by
chance you get on before the Orlando part of this phone-hookup, you will
hear music, until another member calls in (all on the line are able to talk
to one another). The meeting lasts three hours.

 

*#2 Elections will be an important part of this year's meeting; happens
every two years. I and the Board have spoken with several of our most active
members, and have developed a slate of committed individuals willing to step
up and fill seven of the nine leadership positions needing filled in today's
elections (two Board seats will be totally up for grabs by members at the
meeting). We are excited with the prospect of getting infusion of fresh and
creative ideas that will further the benefits enjoyed by our membership. I
urge you to support the slate of suggested officers and board members that
we have interviewed and recommend for our leaders for the next two years.

(The above members will provide a BIO that will be presented during the
meeting.)

 

One final note on elections: I can tell you all this, the Writers' division
needs good leaders, people who have and will give of their time and talent.
During elections, I would ask, if you do not know what the time commitment
is, and/or the duties which have to be carried out, then do not stand for
election. The Writers' Division meets by phone, nearly every month, and the
work of our yearly events is shared among the leadership and special
committees; time and effort is needed, or this job would drive you nuts.
After convention, set in on board meetings, find a committee of your
interest, and volunteer to join and make it happen; we need you.

 

*#3 Convention Meeting Day Division Breakfast! On July 7th, members gathered
in Orlando, are invited to go out for breakfast. The time is 8:00 AM. Meet
in the lobby, near the entrance into the elevator alcove. For further
information, now or then, call Eve Sanchez at 1-208-339-2430.
