A little wave making or walking a slanted deck for the moment!
For anyone who does not know what "listing to port" might mean

In general, aboard a ship, yacht or sailing craft and even in an
airplane, facing forward, port pertains to the left. While starboard
means to the right side of ship facing forward or towards the bow. Now,
"listing to port" could mean several things.

If you did not know this marine phrase, leaning to the left
this could be
taken as a political statement, such as voting for an Obama or a Clinton.
This would really be a left side tilt! This tilt or lean could be
measured in any degree. It could be a drastic pitch and actually mean
that the ship is not just leaning to port or to the left but going down
fast on the left side-with little chance for survival!

Alternatively, listing to port is just that, the vessel is slanting to
the left and the deck is possibly unsafe to walk on at the time.

To remember these phrases and fit them to the correct side is easy. Port
is a four-letter word as is left. Starboard is the lengthier word which
the word right is in contrast to the left. Therefore, you are left for
port and right for starboard.

But if you choose to apply port or starboard in a political sense then
you do this at your own risk.
When a ship is listing too far to port, it is often safer to be up on the
starboard side. You get a better perspective of things below and you can
help the ship from rolling over or breaching.

Hope that readers understand that this note is simply trying to set the
course dead ahead! Remember, one degree in the beginning can make all the
difference in the end. Have a nice journey and be careful walking those
decks in times of big seas. Maybe a little listing might bring everyone
out of his or her cabins
huh?

This note has not been edited as of yet!
