Sherry,

Several years back I wrote a novel that started in 1978. I also found a site
for slang, although I forget what it was now. However, I was able to find
and listen to television shows from the era, which are good for that. As for
songs and news, I just googled it. Most popular songs 1975, for instance
(you might also put pop, rock, or country) or top news stories of 1975 so if
people are watching TV, it might be on the news, or glanced in a newspaper,
whatever. Remember most people listened to the radio for music (Casey
Cassem, remember!) and 8 tracks were 'high tech' for that time. Clothes can
be trickier, but if you were 18 then, then you can probably remember what
you wore, and you can talk to others for ideas and memories as well. Tight
jeans, wrap around skirts, flannel shirts tucked in for the guys, clogs, and
so on. Facebook friends might be a good resource for this kind of stuff. As
for movies, I'm pretty sure 1975 was a good year, as Rocky came out, as did
Monty Python and the Holy Grail--two classics. Not sure about Saturday Night
Fever, I think that might have been '76.

Good luck,

Chris
