Vejas,

I'm no poetry expert, so I base my comments on how the poem makes me feel,
resonates with me. Very post-modern, like it. In particular, I like the end
where narrator ask for the text. Great contrast with dreamy quality of rest
of poem, and has a slight snarky, sarcastic feel to it at same time. Good
job.

Subject: [stylist] Poem, "Where I'm From"

Hi All,
I know I haven't posted any work in a while and am not usually a poet but...
I have been assigned a poem titled "Where I'm From", and can write anything
as long as it's longer than a haiku.
This just flowed. This is what I consider the ideal world.
Where I'm From
by Vejas Vasiliauskas
I come from a world of imagination.
A world of dreamy souls, floating in fresh, luscious water.
A world of birds, singing nonstop, with their cheery tunes.
A world of books, from cheap paperbacks to glossy hardcover.
A world where everything is of the most rich blue.
So how did I end up here, in this life?
How did I end up in a world of expectations, responsibilities, deadlines, A
world of judgement, loneliness and difference?
If you know, text me.
