Hello writers,

First, I want to thank you for responding to my post concerning editor
choice. I am discovering the longer I stick around and ask questions,
that there are a few ways to get things done in the writing trade.
That is good to know.

Linda Lambert, I found your experience and comments fascinating and of
interest on a few different levels:
- Frequency of communication
- I assume you have enough sight to render visual art as well as text
- Book reviews: Are those based on audience, author, both? My
reference is to the AFB and Indiana Journal that you mention.
- Two different editor experiences, both presented positive.

If I publish my short stories in a couple years, my editor choice will
be the "runner-up" for the anthology I am producing. I hired a
qualified writing acquaintance and made some allowances from the
start. Perhaps I followed my dad's model when he worked as an
electrical contractor and leaned toward hiring distant relatives or
someone he knew or came recommended. The potential editor knows of my
intentions and is agreeable. She is a member of one of the Editor
Organizations in the US, and was given my name when I submitted a form
looking for a candidate. In hindsight, it may have been better to do
the reverse. Nevertheless, I made the commitment and will see it
through. So did the present editor.

List Ideas
To the person who has been a member since age 15, You know best what
worked here before. I think if you get too many activities going at
once, it could be detrimental. We don't have separate listservs based
on interest. Try A Word Of The Week for example, and have someone
volunteer to offer that for two weeks, and then it changes hands.

Or, if you do the Writing Prompt, one a month. What is the word length
to be? How many stories or poems does one submit - and critique?

I personally vote for the Word of the Week to be done perhaps through September.

I don't know who makes the rules and final decisions, so will just put
the idea out here as a response. Thanks..
