Hello Mr. Robert,
We last spoke a couple of years ago regarding my first novel, A Hero's Curse, and the blind protagonist. It was a joy interacting with you and A Hero's Curse has done well since its launch. If you or any of your community are interested, it will be free on Kindle this weekend, and it is also available as an audiobook through Audible: http://amzn.to/2jtQN6q
Here's what I'm so excited to celebrate with you! The Nightrage Rising announcement! It's all come together and I was just able to open up pre-orders for signed copies on Kickstarter: http://kck.st/2zVEMKX
Please feel free to share with anyone you think might be interested in the sequel to A Hero's Curse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nightrage Rising is a street-level fantasy-adventure novel with a healthy splash of Nancy Drewish mystery—mixed with a dollop of wit and snark. It is a fast paced, first-person, present-tense story of a girl discovering self-worth, courage and friendship in the face of an unstable kingdom, magical inequality, and a dangerous, seductive cult. If you grab a copy off the shelf and flip to the back cover, here's what you'll find:
"Essie Brightsday is blind. But that hasn’t kept her from curses, dragons, or rock basilisks in the past. Now her family lives in the bustling capital of Plen, a far cry from their small farm tucked against the Valley of Fire. Little does she know that a secretive cult is growing in the city, guaranteeing this adventure will be just as eventful as the last…"
While Nightrage Rising is the sequel to A Hero's Curse, it was written to stand on its own. If you missed the first book, don't worry, you can still jump in, right now. (You can find out more about a A Hero's Curse here www.psbroaddus.com/a-heros-curse/).
Thank you sir!
Our reviewer has completed his go-through of your manuscript. His critique is attached. I will also paste in below his comments to me; shows some of what he is thinking, though I am sure he fully explains himself in his write-up. Check it out; looks like you have the start to something pretty good. Hi Robert
“…Attached is my critique of “A Hero’s Curse.”
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this. It was interesting to review as a blind person, looking at the presentation of blindness and a blind protagonist. The author – a sighted adult male – certainly took on a challenge making his main character a blind, twelve-year-old girl.
Although I started out to look at the chapters from a blindness perspective only, I saw things in the formatting and mechanics that I thought significant enough to comment on.
As I mentioned at the end of my critique, I’m willing to talk or expand in writing on my review to the author. His novel has the potential to be publicized, and that makes it something I haven’t seen much of. He needs to polish, then go forward…”
