[Stylist] Question about a Book That's Been Mentioned Here

That pretty much sums up why I decided to put it down. I could pretty much see that right away once I got the book.
Also, the very first chapter starts with the author talking about how he almost stormed out after an argument with his wife. I've never understood this storming ou/silent treatment behavior. I didn't grow up with it, and I'd imagine it would be damaging. Regardless of how angry someone is, by storming out they seem to be making the situation worse for everyone involved.

But, lots of research has been done to debunk myths about how different men and women are. As individuals, we can have different ways of communicating, or lack thereof, but, as being specific to gender, it's much more complicated than that book suggests. And, you have to consider transgender, which is a gender as well, which the book doesn't at all. Childhood, mental illness, nurture vs. nature, trauma- lots of variables go into what make a person who they are and how they communicate. And a lot of our ideas about men and women are based on engrained societal perceptions that we perpetuate in pop culture, such as this book, forcing concepts onto specific genders.
