Helen,
I thank you so much! I've been wanting to do this but did not have the
details of how to do it -
I'll be so excited to listen to you book on Audible, too. You have given us
invaluable advice. I know for certain I will be doing this with my book.
It is selling and I get royalties just about every month but I really would
love to hear it by a human voice myself. I can only imagine how excited you
were when you could listen to your own book! Again, I cannot thank you
enough for this great information. Lynda L.

Thank you, all, for your good wishes and shared celebration of the Audible
version of Everyday Cruelty! I'm glad the detail was helpful for those
considering it. Lynda, you asked about where to get it started? You just go
to acx.com, and initiate it but claiming your book. After that you set up a
call for auditions by uploading a short sample you want people to read. And
you'll start getting auditions! Good luck, everyone!

Warmly,
Helen

With a plane and ship in the background, a man and woman run into the wind
with a suitcase. While holding his hat on his head, his tie and the woman's
dark hair blow back over their shoulders, and her long legs stretch forward
as she races to catch up with him.

charge. I also did an exclusive contract for this recording with Audible.
For the royalty share, both the narrator and I receive 20% of the total
price of the audiobook, and the price of the book is set by Audible, based
on the length of the recording.

you? I?ve been looking in the audio voices and looking up prices per hour.
Any ideas on that?

Bitterness, or Despair -has just come out as an audiobook on Audible. It's
been in print (standard and large), braille, and Kindle for a while now, and
it was just a good process of choosing and working with a narrator. Here's
the link:

I'm happy to loop around my truly positive experience. The hardest part was
choosing the narrator, seeking the right affect, tone, cadence. I ended up
choosing someone whose accent (South African) was not like mine (standard
American). And I've gotten very positive feedback on that. My narrator was
quick, responsive, easy to work with, highly responsible. I feel fortunate.
I hope others have good experiences, and am happy to be in touch about it.
