[Stylist] new poem

Hi all,his was written  while   trying to get through a  bout of insomnia.
It is written  in my favorite fixed rhyme forms, a  villanelle. 

Open Window

 

Echoes travel on icy wings 

burgeoning sounds in the distance  

Heard through the open window

 

Dissonant hum  of tires sing 

Low temperatures offer little resistance

As Echoes travel on icy wings 

 

engines  rumble, growl and ring

welcomeing insomnia's presence

heard through the open window

 

knowing not what tomorrow will bring

sleep comes with reluctance

as echoes travel on icy wings

 

the gap invites noise-gatherings   

to close it is no assurance

that    the gesture will  be relaxing

and mute the Echoes traveling on icy wings  

Heard through the open window
