[Stylist] How to write diary entries for a piece

Hi, 
I hope you are all doing well. 
For one of my creative writing classes, I'm writing a story in which the main character discovers another character's diary, and learns more about that person through the diary. 
Since the diary is by someone other than my main character, do the entries need to be quoted, or underlined?
