[Tactile-Talk] Lending program for Monarch?

Hi all!
I think there is some sort of link sharing bug with Facebook because the last time I have tried to share anything on Facebook, I got the Same exact message. I know, it was a few months back when I last tried to put something on Facebook via an external linking service, but I couldn’t do it that way even though I knew the link I was using was totally valid. I don’t think you can currently do any kind of sharing or similar activities on Facebook without actually doing it from Facebook itself. With that said, try editing your stuff from Facebook itself without trying to share or sideload it into Facebook. Instead, you might have to actually copy and paste your link directly into Facebook. I think there is either a bug they don’t fix or they took the feature of linking anything externally away so there’s no way to really do that on there these days without getting that error message.
Kendra
Please excuse any errors that sneak past my editing attempts. Thank you for taking the time to read my email message!

Hello, Ken. The link works, but, since I don't have a Facebook account, I realize that it's the link for creating an account that brings up the message that the page cannot be opened because the address is invalid. Should I go directly into the Facebook website and try to create an account from there, then go back into the link you sent me?

Hello, Ken. I did some checking online, first, on APH's Meet the Monarch page, where a Monarch user group for Facebook was mentioned, but the link to that page said that the page could not be opened because the address was invalid. I next found a page for a lending program provided by the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition, but that page returned a message that the page does not seem to exist. I am also aware of the Student Pilot Program and the RISE program, but I am not a student, nor am I a professional employee who works with blind people. If you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate them very much. Thank you for your assistance.

You might want to contact APH and tell them of your needs. They have a few programs going on that might be able to get you one.

Hello. I was wondering if there are any agencies for the blind in the midWestern United States, particularly in or near the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, that lend assistive technology, such as the Monarch to those interested in trying it out for a period of time until it needs to be returned. Ideally, I am looking for a reputable agency that can ship the Monarch to me, since I live in a rather remote area, then I can send it back when it is time to return it. If you know of such an agency that provides such a service, it would be much appreciated if you could send me their contact information, or, better yet, if there is more than one such agency, I would like to look them up and compare them and make a decision as to which one I would like to use. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Jeanine Mooers
