[TAGS] Sharing my recent tactile artwork, The Last Shelter

Hi there,

Hope everyone is doing well.

It has been a long time since I shared something here on TAGS, and I am
happy to finally come back with a completed artwork.

About two years ago, while I was at Kite Beach in Dubai, I collected some
sand and seashells. At the time, there was no clear plan. It was simply one
of those things we do as artists, collecting materials that speak to us and
trusting they will find their purpose someday.

After sitting with me for quite some time, those same materials eventually
became part of this piece. Using aluminium foil, paper, white glue,
colours, a recycled flower bouquet base, and the sand and shells from Kite
Beach, I created this tactile 3D model titled The Last Shelter.

The artwork represents a small tree holding a nest within its branches,
exploring the idea of protection, fragility, and having a place to belong.
This is also my first completed artwork after a long break from art, and
the process reminded me how meaningful it is to return to creating with my
hands.

Alternate text:
A handmade 3D model of a tree placed on a square transparent glass base
filled with real sand and scattered seashells. The tree has a textured
brown trunk with rough ridges and branches spreading outward and slightly
upward. The leaves are sparse, individually placed, and coloured in shades
of orange and red, resembling autumn foliage rather than a dense canopy. A
small nest made of shells is positioned among the branches, appearing
sheltered within the tree. The overall piece gives the feeling of a lone
tree on a beach offering quiet protection.
